Technician - Data Centre Project

Minimum Education Level

At least Certificate / Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, related technical field; or Possess Chargeman Certificate of Competency (A0–A4) issued by the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga Malaysia).

Qualifications

  • Malaysian Citizen.   

  • Certificate / Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related technical field from a recognised institution.  or, 

  • Possess Chargeman Certificate of Competency (A0–A4) issued by the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga Malaysia).   

  • Minimum 1–3 years’ experience in facility operation, electrical maintenance, mechanical maintenance, industrial plants, utilities, or data centre environments.   

  • Willing to work on rotating shifts, weekends, public holidays, and emergency call-outs to support 24/7 data centre operations.   

  • Basic knowledge of:   

    • Electrical distribution systems   

    • UPS systems   

    • Standby generators   

    • LV switchboards   

    • Building services systems   

    • Data centre critical infrastructure operations   

  • Physically fit to work in a mission-critical environment and perform standby/emergency response duties.   

  • Fresh graduate encourage to apply. 

Job Descriptions

  • Perform shift duties to support 24/7 Data Centre operations. 

  • Monitor and inspect electrical and facility equipment, including UPS systems, generators, transformers, switchgear, batteries, and distribution systems. 

  • Conduct routine inspections and record equipment status, alarms, and operational data. 

  • Assist Chargemen and Engineers in operation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting activities. 

  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with approved schedules and procedures. 

  • Respond to equipment alarms, faults, and operational issues, and escalate where necessary. 

  • Support emergency response and equipment restoration activities to minimise downtime. 

  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, including PTW, LOTO, and company HSE requirements. 

  • Assist contractors and vendors during maintenance, testing, and project activities. 

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and operational logs. 

  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives for Data Centre facilities.
